Born in 1987 in Paris, Laura Taubman is a film director and editor.

Laura has been developing and exploring documentary cinema in all its forms for over ten years. She works both in the sphere of social science research and in more experimental spheres, notably by directing and editing films for the world of dance.

Doctor in Social Anthropology from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), her doctoral thesis, defended in December 2020, focused on the social implications of power and educational mandates within a self-managed school. This thesis brought forth the creation of a film, Pas Sage, an ethnography filmed over the span of a school year as well as a manuscript.
